Crispy Patata REVIEW

Hello Guys, today I'm going to make for a 7th week review about media in the Philippines. Last week, I make a review about the print- ad of carbtrim. I saw a new commercial in the television and this is the commercial of the the snack product of Oishi, the "Crispy Patata"- baked potato snack. This commercial will be aired on August 2 featuring the one of the popular actress and comedienne named Alex Gonzaga and Ritz Charles Beltran (G Force members). Alex Gonzaga endorsed the snack product and she said there was something in this snack because of the crunchiness/crispiness.

Watch this commercial below:

In the situation in this commercial that when Alex eat this snack, Ritz dance with sound effect of cracking joint (the action of joint manipulation to produce a sharp cracking or popping sound). this cracking joint are similar to the sound of the crispiness of this snack product.

The propaganda technique of this commercial is "testimonial" and "wit and humor" because it endorse a product by a prominent person and this TV commercial has a great element of surprise that will make you laugh because of the comedienne. Th target audience is to all people like to eat snacks. It attracts attention because it's witty. It has an effective way to endorse this advertising because it shows the crispiness and delicious snack product (crispy patata). In terms of technicality, it has 2 actor and actress in this commercial with one venue. It is very clean and sharp. They use many lights to be more better. Different shots are used in this commercial.

That's all
Have a good day!

Print-ads (Carbtrim) burp!

Hello Guys! For now I make a review about print- ads in the Philippines. One of the print- ad that I choose is the product of "Carbtrim". Carbtrim (powdered tea) is a carb-blocking product in a refreshing iced tea drink. It says that these product block up to 66% of carbohydrate. It contains Phase 2 White Kidney Bean Extract which is clinically proven with 24 published/ research studies.

I think that the propaganda technique of these print-ad is "Fact and Figures Statistics" because it shows the results when you use or drink this product. One of the target audience is mostly women. It encourage you to buy this product because it is safe and clinically proven to prevent or eliminate of fats.

In terms of technicality, It shows one model and the product with splash of water. Pink is used in color background because I think it represent love and nurture. Pink is represent FEMINISM. It creates desire to make you believe you need it or want it. The design is very simple and it use software such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.

That's all :)

Makulay (knorr) TVC

Last Friday, I did a review about the commercial of Biolink. For now, a make a review about the TV commercial of Knorr titled "Makulay". Watch this commercial below:

-Makulay ang Buhay (knorr) TVC

This is one of the famous TV commercial in the Philippines and this is popular among children because of its jingle. It is easy to sing the lyrics and the dance steps. In this commercial, It features Nash Aguas, Sharlene San Pedro and Aaron Junatas (the three popular child stars before). The purpose of this commercial is to encourage all children to eat vegetables especially of the children that hate vegetables. The trademark phrase 'Makulay ang buhay sa sinabawang gulay' promotes the nutritional gain children will get from eating vegetables. It shows in this TVC, the children hate eating vegetables but when they know about the "sinabawang gulay", the children are happy, fun, and they enjoyed eating vegetables because of the product of knorr. Tt promotes their product (Knorr) because when you put this to your food, the food is going to be delicious. Hahaha :)

This TV commercial is very nice because of the nutritional value and it deserves to watch this to all not only the children but also the adult. In this commercial helps the parents to guide the children to eat vegetables to keep healthy body. They have an opportunity to be popular of their product because of the TVC and many people buy for this product. In terms of technicality, many children are shown in the TVC  including the three popular child stars. I think they use Chroma key compositing, or chroma keying (green- screen) because of the effects and backgrounds and they use some software to be more adorable and nice commercial. The background is like a background of a nursery rhymes videos. Thumbs up! Very nice and cute :)

That's all :D

TVC (BIOLINK)

Hello Guys! Last time, I did a review about the TVC of camella homes titled "Sikip". For now I am doing a review about the commercial of Biolink VCO Hot Oil & Shampoo titled "Virgin" and one of the funny TVC in the Philippines. It is simple and quick but there are 2 version of this commercial. Watch this commercial below:

-First version (Biolink)
-Second version (Biolink)

Many beauty care products usually beautiful or gorgeous ladies seen in the commercials but this is different because it shows that the ladies are not good looking and gorgeous. It shows four plain-looking ladies with beautiful, shiny and smooth black hair as well as a man endowed with the same impressive straight hair. This TVC has a great element of surprise that will make you laugh. When I watch this TVC, I expect that the facing the back ladies are gorgeous and beautiful but I made a mistake because when they look forward, the ladies are not good looking and the last is not a lady, it's a man! hahaha!

Besides funny or witty, it encourage you to buy this care product even you are a good or not good looking (peace :P). When you use this product, it gives hair a very smooth and shiny appearance and it would like the ladies hair in the commercial. In terms of technicality, it had one venue only. It had minimal of actor/ actress in this commercial. It is very quickly TVC because the time is only 18 seconds. They are use one camera movement which is the "panning".

The TVC is nice!
That's all :)

SIKIP (Camella Homes) TV ads.

Do you remember this ad?
The commercial titled “sikip”, a cute TV advertising commercial of Camella Homes featuring Cha-cha CaƱete (Filipina child actress). It was release in the year 2009. It is adorable commercial I’ve ever seen.  One of the best television commercial in the Philippines. Camella Homes is a real estate company providing affordable homes in the Philippines. This advertising shows that Cha-cha is a lovely little girl who thinks that they are still living in a tiny and old house. She can’t stretch their body but realizes that indeed already living in a new and big house so she doesn’t need to move like that anyone at the end of these TV ads. The song/ jingle of this ad titled “bulilit” were become popular among Filipinos especially for the kids. There are many spoof/ parody videos in these commercial. Not only is the commercial nice but also the meaning of the story. In our society, many people wish that we have their own simple and big house someday.

In this commercial, it is very simple but unique. Many different basic shots in this TV advertising. They follow the rules in creating commercial. It is very clean and adorable. It shows the very beautiful and new house of Camella Homes. To encourage people to settle these affordable homes of Camella. It never ceases to catch his attention. When I hear or I watch this commercial, I expressing overwhelming happiness because of the cute song/jingle. Their mission is to attract people to be famous their commercial and to have a customer who are willing to this home brand .

Brand Commercial (FITA)

One of the humorous television commercial here in the Philippines is the “Fita” commercial titled “Kahilingan”. It was released October 2003. It shows the importance of giving and sharing to others. It shows the kindness of the man. It is popular this commercial ad to all Filipino people who they watch this because of the funny storyline. In the situation, a man sitting on a bench while eating “fita” (famous Filipino brand). After that, the man gives a little girl sitting on the same bench in a piece of biscuit. Then the old beggar sits beside on him and asks for a piece of biscuit but the man confuse because he have one piece of biscuit left and if he give a piece of biscuit or a half of biscuit. So he cuts into a half and he gives one half to the old beggar. After the old beggar eat a half biscuit, she transform to a beautiful fairy. The fairy told the man that in reward for being a kind person, he shall be granted any wish. The man asks for a red sports car and the fairy agrees for the man’s wish. So the red sports car drops out of the sky. The man shock because it is not a complete car, it was just a half car.

As what I noticed that the television commercial is very funny, famous because of its humor and nice commercial even though it's old. They follow the rules in creating television commercial. This is unrealistic because of the fairy and it is similar to the fiction cartoon animation, movies and so on. I thought that "what you give is what you get/receive". In Filipino daily life, some of the people are being so kind-hearted to others. In overall of this ad, it is classic, very simple, the different shots in this video is very clean, rule of thirds and so on. It thought and planned it because they can watch this to all people especially children. It caught their attention adding its humor resulted to a commercial.

Review for Old and New Advertisement (BF/GF commercial in McDonnalds and Ariel)

Scene by the McDo's commercial "Bf/Gf"

Commercial is a classified message in radio, magazines, newspapers, billboards, fliers and television. It is for announcement to sell a product or service. I choose one advertisement in the Philippines (print ads or commercial) to review.
(OLD)
Do you know the commercial of McDonald’s having a little girl and boy in a GF/BF theme? Well, it has become popular and controversy because of the message in television commercial’s story line. It is banned by Catholic Church. It is stopped the airing of this commercial. The Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines is being hit by criticisms. People are saying they should mind their own business, and let MTRCB do their job in screening commercials and programs shown on television. In the situation, the girl asks a boy if she could be his girlfriend. But the boy said that he doesn’t want to because the entire girlfriend now is too demanding.  So the girl said that she wants to have a McDo Fries.

In these TV commercials, as an artist, I’ve seen that it is nice because of the different basic shots in the video and it’s very simple but the story is not good for me. They follow the rules in creating commercial. The actor/ actress are very talented and as a very young age, they know how to act. They can be a nice artist (actor/ actress).

Some reactions of the people that they watch this advertisement are having some positive and negative comments or reviews. Some comments is too unique and cute but it is very shallow. It is too young to do this thing. People keep saying that they are just kids and let the commercial be. For me, it is failed because many kids are seen this advertisement so it is have a chance to simulate this of some kids. This is not so good values.  In making an advert/commercial, you have to be aware, have planned, review and think of what you are going to do in a positive way  and must have the right values for children. They might discuss what the tone of the message is, how did it grab the audience’s attention, and what video did the commercial use and so on.

scene by the TV commercial of Ariel
(NEW)
Ariel (7.50) was a popular and has become viral of this television commercial in the Philippines. It features the Filipino mothers washing their clothes using the the product of Ariel. For now, it is "high-end" pricing strategy because formely this product is so expensive compare to the other brand/product. It shown in this TV commercial that the mothers are dancing while washing their clothes.I notice that they not use "Washing Machine"  element in the commercial.
It is very entertaining but some people said/comment that this is annoying.
